I don't rag on Jay Mariotti that much here because there are others who do it so much better than I can but in reading Jason Whitlock's column today I could not help but notice this in the first sentence:
Everyone I mention in today's column — except Jay Mariotti — is someone I like personally, respect professionally and hope will understand I have a job to do.
Then he did not mention Jay Mariotti all in his column.
Cheap shots at Mariotti in his column for no apparent reason is very "Mariotti-esque" but for some reason it feels good.

So, Marrioti gets owned by a regional contemporary? Wow. Must be because Jay is caucasian, Or, sucks a lot. Pnoles?
Whitlock was on a roll in that column. I was bursting with pride at the fact he mentioned Mariotti as someone he did not like. I am going to say it is because Mariotti sucks and not because he is white.

Someone should fire that guy!
I agree someone should fire Jay Mariotti. Someone should start a website advocating this and also begin to use wit and intelligence to point out how stupid his columns are.
